Welcome to TumbleweedWrites! This website has served as my home on the internet since April 2017, evolving over the years into an all-purpose personal website, writing portfolio, and blog. Before I go deeper into what you can expect to find here, allow me to introduce myself.
My name’s Michael and I’m a London-based writer, originally from Nailsea (a town in South-West England, near Bristol). In 2014 I graduated with a BA in Creative Writing from the University of Winchester and in 2022 I graduated from Kingston University with an MA in Publishing. At the moment, I work full-time as a Copywriter for a design agency. My debut book, Fractured Threads, released in the summer of 2022 and is available from most online retailers. For the most part, I tend to write literary or contemporary fiction, although I sometimes dabble in science fiction, fantasy, historical fiction, and crime! You can view my published works here.

As for this website, there are no strict limits on what I write about. Given that I work full-time, my posts are often spontaneous and reflect what I’m feeling at that moment. That said, my posts tend to fall into three categories:
- reviews (books, films, games, TV shows, plays)
See more: My Top 15 Movies of the Year- 2019, The Last of Us Part 2 is a Masterpiece, Domina Reviewed: A Nuanced Portrayal of the Power of Women in Ancient Rome - personal stories (travel, student living, life updates, significant events or experiences)
See more: Turning 25, My First Week of College in the USA, Cruising Around the Caribbean- Part 1 - thought-pieces (pop culture, politics, writing, sports, mental health)
See more: Football, England, & Me, Reels of Spring, Five Guys Read Hemingway: My Reading Experiment
On occasion, I will sometimes write posts as part of a series, such as the one covering my 2012 student exchange in the United States, which has its own tab on the menu in the upper right. Feel free to contribute your thoughts in the comment sections or drop me a line if you have any questions; I’m quite busy at the moment but I’ll always do my best to respond. I only ask that you be respectful. Thanks for visiting TumbleweedWrites and happy reading!
